Case Studies - Rudding Park

A privately-owned luxury hotel, with 90 bedrooms and suites, destination spa, two restaurants, a kitchen garden, private cinema, two golf courses and conference and events space. Set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, Rudding Park is one of the UK’s leading hotels. Whilst Rudding Park prides itself on providing a high quality, comfortable and safe environment for all guests and staff, they are conscious of the impact the hotel has on the environment and therefore takes responsibility to minimise wherever possible any detrimental effects operations may have. This includes using ReFood to recycle food waste, diverting it from landfill and converting it into biogas and biofertiliser.

“Working with ReFood clicked instantly. They visited and helped train staff, provided expert knowledge and even handy posters of waste dos and don’ts. The bins are collected regularly by clean vans, and each new bin supplied is spotless. ReFood are great at separating other materials from organic waste. They’re able to filter any accidentally added plastics, sometimes even cutlery – there are always missing teaspoons!”

Matthew Wilkinson, Kitchen Manager, Rudding Park Hotel

“I recommend ReFood to everyone. It economically makes sense. It’s good for the planet and the future. And it’s the right thing for the chefs, the business, the guests and the environment.”

Nuno César de Sá, Hotel Manager, Rudding Park Hotel
