The process begins with our collection fleet and dedicated operational teams, supported where needed by trusted logistics partners operating to ReFood's service standards. Our vehicles, drivers, and scheduling systems ensure collections are carried out safely, consistently, and in line with agreed service levels. Our process gives customers confidence that the first step is reliable, accountable, and fully managed under the ReFood service model.
Once collected, food waste is transported through our UK-based anaerobic digestion network, comprising in-house and approved partner facilities operating under ReFood management and oversight. Because we control how waste enters, moves through, and is processed within this network, we can ensure where it goes, how it is treated, and what it becomes. This level of operational control is rare in the waste sector and is central to our ability to offer full traceability and consistent quality.
Through anaerobic digestion, food waste is converted into renewable energy and nutrient-rich fertiliser. The energy generated is supplied to homes and businesses, supporting the transition to cleaner power. The fertiliser produced by ReGrow is certified to PAS110 standards, ensuring it is safe, regulated, and suitable for use on farmland. It is then used to support soil health and grow future food crops, returning nutrients to the land and completing a true circular process.
