Applications are invited to apply for the position of a Supply Chain Assistant at our Widnes Site. This is a full time permanent position, working 40 hours per week.
As a Supply Chain Assistant your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:
Assisting in managing the raw material supply chain – coordinating supplies with customers and internal personnel.
Ensuring the efficient running of the Company’s collection services.
Planning efficient operation of the vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and service levels are maintained.
Ensuring compliance with company procedures and statutory obligations for vehicle operations, health & safety and other legislation.
Assisting with the management and development of drivers.
Maintaining driver records and drivers hours in line with EU rules regulation (EC) 561/2006.
Prepare vehicle KPI’s in line with ReFood requirements.
Be responsible for the setting up of new customers.
Maintain relationships with current customers.
On-call phone cover on alternative weekends.
Other ad hoc duties as requested by management.
Good formal education.
Strong communication skills, with an ability to balance conflicting demands.
Good knowledge of transport regulations.
Previous experience of working within a transport office.
Ability to work under pressure in an ever changing environment.
Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
Committed, reliable and flexible team player.
